Paragraphs about dog as desired by owners (please limit to a few paragraphs as opposed to a few pages!!).

Jet has always been the most exciting dog of my life.  Not because she has a super attitude, is always upbeat, and has the work ethic of a champion (because she does!)....and not because she has earned lots of legs, titles, ribbons, and great scores (because she has!), but because you just never know what she is going to do next!

I've always called Jet my "dog with 9 lives!   When she was still a puppy she managed to climb the stairs and get through a locked gate to our pool deck.  Once there, she proceeded to walk out on to the pool cover (it was winter), and had to immediately start swimming in ice cold water to stay afloat.  We didn't know she was in the pool.  Our normal morning operating procedure was to let the dogs out to potty, then shower and get ready for work, and let the dogs back in.  When I let the dogs back in, I missed Jet, but didn't think too much about it.   But a bit later when I went to check on her again and she didn't come back to the house, I began to worry.  I called her.....no response.  So I walked outside, and called again.  I heard heavy panting and splashing....I knew immediately that it was Jet and that she had somehow gotten into the pool.  By the time I got her out, she was completely exhausted and cold as ice.  But she was OK....she is as tough as nails!

Then came the day when Jet got tick paralysis.  She had been limping some....I thought perhaps just strained a muscle chasing cars down the fence row (one of her favorite sports!).  The next day, however, when I let her outside to go potty she fell out the door, and could only use her front legs.  I knew something was desperately wrong, and rushed her to the vet.  He diagnosed her with tick paralysis.  Within hours her organs would have shut down and she would have died had she not been diagnosed so quickly.  But she was OK....she is as tough as nails!

A few months later, while Ron was putting out rat poison in the barn, he suddenly realized he was losing poison pellets out of a hole in the sack.  When he looked down to see where the pellets had fallen, there was Jet...lapping up the little pellets!   We called the poison center and the vet....both indicated she hadn't eaten enough to do any harm, but to watch her for signs of poisoning.  But she was OK....she is as tough as nails!

With Jet, I'm always waiting for the next incident......just stay tuned!!!!!

[Jet went to the Rainbow Bridge on 10/30/2010; she passed peacefully in her sleep.   Gone, but never forgotten....]
